Nigerian music star Yemi Alade has accused Cool FM of blacklisting her songs despite her efforts to mend their relationship.
On November 21, 2024, Yemi Alade took to micro-blogging platform X to air her grievances against the radio station, alleging they removed her catalogue from their airwaves over unresolved issues.

She wrote, “My God, BIG PASS YOUR WHOLE station @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria, keep on forming gate keepers and taking my songs down.”
“NA GOD BE MY LABEL AND MANAGEMENT, we go meet for front.”
“Fake people wey dey feel like small gods.”

The usually reserved singer revealed she had tried to stay out of trouble but was left with no choice.
“Me, I no dey find trouble O.”
“But @CoolFMNigeria and @cloutafrica with their Ogas that like operation ….. life is a marathon, not a sprint.”
“Shine your eyes,” she added.

Yemi Alade accused the station of holding a grudge against her for over a year after she failed to perform at their event despite apologizing.
“Una dey carry person for mind …. for 1 year @cloutafrica and @CoolFMNigeria shameful, very shameless,” she wrote.

She further alleged that her attempts to reconcile had been ignored by the station’s leadership.
“Take down my whole catalog from your stations @CoolFMNigeria and @cloutafrica …. God go still give me food.”
“You’re beefing an artist for 1 full year, over your event.”
“I didn’t go, too.”
“I apologized and even called your oga him dey form oga no even reply my text.”

Yemi Alade, who was recently nominated for a Grammy Award for Best African Song Performance, expressed her frustration over what she termed “gatekeeping” in the Nigerian music industry.

Cool FM has yet to respond to the allegations.
