A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA (ONELGA), Hon Eleah Umejuru Ake has described the re-election of Governor Nyesom Wike as a well deserved victory for the PDP and the people of Rivers State.
Hon Eleah Ake, who spoke with our correspondent in an interview in Port Harcourt, said the celebration that greeted the announcement of the result was an indication of the enormous love Rivers people have for the governor.
Hon. Eleah Ake described the PDP as the natural party of Rivers State.
“Here in Rivers State, we voted and we stood by our votes and our votes counted. The victory was sweet for Rivers State.
“Rivers people have shown that they love their governor, they have shown that they love the party, PDP, they have proved once and for all that indeed, PDP is the natural party of Rivers State”.
The PDP stalwart and former Special Adviser to the former governor on Ethics and Good Governance, Hon Eleah Ake noted that the second tenure of Governor Nyesom Wike would witness a better performance and stronger unity among the people of Rivers State.
He thanked God for the victory and expressed optimism that the governor is better equipped for the task of governance of the state.
He called on the opposition who lost in the election to embrace Governor Nyesom Wike and join hands with him to move the state forward.
“Now, what is left? It’s for us to pick up our pieces, mend fences, weld the state back again; join hands together and make sure that the new administration is a success.
“God who made this victory possible will also give him the ability, the intellect and the enablement to drive the affairs of the state and to get it to enviable heights.
“For those, who lost the race, let them forget about the past, forget about the rancour and forget about the bitterness that pervaded the last election circle. Let us all come together, join with the governor to develop the state and make the state a better place for all of us”, he said.
