The Governor Siminalayi Fubara led Government in Rivers State has expressed its readiness to galvanize support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Edison Ehie made this disclosure on Saturday, May 11, 2024 during a Special Thanksgiving Service organised to celebrate Fubara’s victory at the Supreme Court at Western Ahoada County High School, Ahoada, Ahoada-East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Edison, who spoke on behalf of the leadership of Ahoada-East LGA, revealed that Governor Sim Fubara and his teeming supporters worked assiduously to ensure the victory of President Tinubu in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election and are ready to replicate same feat in 2027.
He extolled the judgement of the supreme court that upheld the election victory of president Tinubu and Governor Fubara as testament of their efforts in the state.
Edison also revealed that there are rumours of someone already mobilizing within Rivers State to contest against President Tinubu in 2027 because he is a serving minister. He said such ambition will not receive the support of Rivers People.
He also used the opportunity to apologize to a former Governor of the State, Peter Odili and his wife, retired Justice Mary Odili, over derogatory comments made against them by some persons who benefitted from them in the past.
Notable personalities at the event included the State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Ordu, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo, members of the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly, and leadership of the Simplified Movement across Rivers State.
Highpoint of the event was the donation of 200,000 Naira each to 65 persons across the 13 wards of Ahoada-East Local Government Area.
