Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has expressed satisfaction with work on the Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road and assures of delivering the project within the scheduled 36 months.
Governor Fubara on Wednesday embarked on an inspection tour of some sections of the 50.15 kilometers road taking through Elikpokoudu to Rukpokwu before moving to the Rumuosi section and ending at the UTC junction section of the road.
Addressing the Press after the inspection, Fubara said he is impressed with the work done so far, and hopeful that the construction firm will meet up the target date of completion.
He noted that the project is important to his administration and will do all that is within his powers to ensure that the road is delivered on time
“I think we have a few issues on the price rate earlier used, but I assure them of the necessary support to make sure that they deliver.
“You know this project is very important to us. It is one of the first things I signed off when I came in as governor of this state.
“It is a signature project for me, whichever way anybody wants to look at it, we are paying heavily for it. One objective of this administration is to make sure that we deliver it for our people.”
The Governor was received on site by the Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Dr. Lars Richter, who subsequently briefed him on the progress of works on the various sections of the ring road.
While speaking on the project, Dr. Richter said that work is progressing according to schedule as the first and second flyovers were done within two months with drilling ongoing on the third site.
