He described the move by the Deputy Senate President and the Inspector General of Police as “a welcome idea”, praising the IGP Tactical Team for engaging relevant stakeholders in the community with a view to ensuring a safe environment for the NLNG Train 7 project.

The team led by Usman Magaji, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, who was accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President on Community Affairs, Conflict Resolution and Local Content Matters, Christopher Agaga, had visited the King Perekule Palace, Bonny, where they met with the Bonny Chiefs Council (BCC), Bonny Kingdom Titled Citizens Assembly (TCA), Bonny Women Forum (BWF), and the Bonny Youths Federation (BYF), among other stakeholders.

Hart urged the Federal Government not to only expand the scope of the security coverage for the Train 7 project to include Bonny LGA as a whole but also take urgent steps to address the issue of sea piracy along Bonny-Port Harcourt sea route.

He further urged that the security agencies should be directed to curb all forms of criminal activities within Bonny LGA, regretting that such activities have hampered the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of the area.

The Okolo-Ama Ikpangi Leader emphasized that the youths of Bonny Kingdom have an important role to play in assuring security in the area, pointing out that their input was a key ingredient that will ensure the success of a secure environment for the Train 7 project and Bonny Kingdom, in general.
