Train 7 Groundbreaking: Bonny Monarch Deserves Accolades – Evomec

The Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple II, CON, Perekule XI, has been applauded for galvanizing stakeholders and ensuring that the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nigeria LNG Train 7 project took place without any hitches.

Managing Director of Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL), Chief Peter Esievo gave this commendation recently in a chat with Kristina Reports in Port Harcourt.

Acknowledging the tedious path to achieving a broad-based buy-in from relevant stakeholders, Chief Esievo stressed that “the King deserves accolades for his efforts, it is not easy. He has shown great leadership,” emphasizing that the Bonny Monarch’s actions were etched on his love for his people.    

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Nigeria LNG Train 7, which signified the onset of the project, held in Bonny Island on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

It had in attendance President Muhammadu Buhari, who is also the Minister of Petroleum Resources; Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry-Banigo; and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; and former Minister of Petroleum Resources and Amanyanabo of Nembe Kingdom, His Eminence, King Edmund Daukoru.

Others were the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Management Board (NCDMB), Simbi Wabote; Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari; Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria, Osagie Osunbor; and Managing Directors of Nigeria LNG, Tony Attah, Saipem Contracting Nigeria, Walter Paviani, and Daewoo Nigeria Limited, Yeongsoep Jung, among other captains of industry.

The five years project, which is expected to attract $12 billion foreign direct investment (FDI), create 12,000 direct and 40,000 indirect jobs and stimulate the local economy, would increase the capacity of the company’s gas liquefaction plant from 22 to 30mtpa of LNG.

Chief Peter Esievo, whose company, Evomec is executing the site preparation and earth moving aspect of the project, expressed his delight in the dexterous handling of various trending interests by His Majesty, King William Dappa Pepple III, praising him for playing the “fatherly role” in ensuring all interests were captured in the project.

“You will understand why everyone turned out during his birthday to celebrate him because he has been playing the fatherly role in accommodating everyone and ensuring that no one is left out of benefitting from this project. He is one King is have utmost respect for.”

Chief Esievo’s Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) has, since its arrival in Bonny LGA, sustained its reputation of being a good corporate citizen by effectively discharging it corporate social responsibility in diverse areas in the LGA such Education, Infrastructure Development, and Social Impact.
