Managing Director of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Tony Attah says that the fabrication aspect of the company’s Train 7 project will be handled by Saipem Contracting Nigeria and Daewoo Nigeria Limited in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

This effectively puts to rest the controversy surrounding the location of the fabrication aspects of the project, which many insinuated earlier in the year that they were to be exported to Lagos.

Attah said this today when he led a delegation of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor, Saipem, Chiyoda and Daewoo Joint Venture (SCD JV) partners on a visit the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in Government House, Port Harcourt.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike

“Your Excellency, let me formally introduce the Train 7 project to you. The Train 7 project will create 12,000 jobs and will also boost the economy of the host communities.”

“The 12,000 jobs will all be here in Rivers State and the prefabrication jobs will be done here at Rumuolumeni and Abam by Saipem and Daewoo.”

Saipem Contracting Nigeria has a fabrication yard at Rumuolumeni in Obio/Akpor LGA while Daewoo Nigeria Limited has a logistics facility at Abam in Okrika LGA, both in Rivers State.
