There is palpable tension in Emohua Local Government Area as heavy gun battle broke out between suspected cult groups and security operatives in the area recently.

Sources told Kristina Reports that trouble started after the LGA Chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd declared a notorious cult leader, Onuigwe Wordi wanted over the alleged killing of a policeman, kidnapping and armed robbery in the area.

Kristina Reports also learnt that Lloyd also placed a bounty of N1million on Wordi’s head, saying that he should be apprehended by all means dead or alive.

But moments after his declaration, the suspected cultists launched a massive attack on a crude oil manifold in the area.

Attempts by the security forces comprising the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Army to rebuff the hoodlums resulted in a gun duel which lasted for over thirty minutes.

Unconfirmed sources say 22-year-old Wordi, who hails from Elibrada Community in Emohua LGA was a regular visitor to the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

Our sources, who preferred anonymity due to concerns about their security hinted that “Wordi is a cultist who wants to be an Iceland Cult SS ‘Soldier’ and a ‘General on his own”.

It was yet unclear what the action the security agencies in the State were taking to contain the incessant disruptions to security in Emohua LGA.
