Sunshine Rosman Completes Seven-Year UNILAG Journey, Eyes Indian, Spanish Roles
Nollywood actress Sunshine Rosman has completed her seven-year undergraduate journey at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, and expressed her ambition to secure leading roles in Indian and Spanish films.
Rosman marked the milestone on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, when she signed out from the university and shared photographs from the celebration on Instagram, describing the seven-year journey as challenging but crediting God and her friends for helping her reach the finish line.
“These past 7 years have been challenging, but we overcame & we really did it together!” Rosman wrote.
The actress also thanked God and her friends for their support as she celebrated the completion of her studies.
Her university journey took place alongside an active acting career, with Rosman previously speaking about the difficulty of balancing academic responsibilities with opportunities in the film industry.
In an August 2025 interview, she recalled that she was preparing for examinations when she received an opportunity to feature in To Kill a Monkey, a Netflix production.
Rather than abandon her examinations, Rosman completed them before joining the production, where she played Amanda Sparkles.
With her university journey now completed, the actress has turned her attention to opportunities beyond the Nigerian film industry.
During a recent interview with comedian and filmmaker AY Makun, Rosman said she would like to play a leading character in either an Indian or Spanish film.
“It could be Indian.”
“It could be Spanish,” she said while discussing the international roles she hopes to explore.
Rosman explained that she believes her physical features could allow her to convincingly portray characters from different backgrounds.
“I’ve seen that I can play an Indian character very comfortably, in terms of my features and what I look like,” she said.
She also said she could portray a Spanish character and expressed a desire to explore both possibilities during her lifetime.
However, Rosman acknowledged that taking a lead role in an Indian production would require preparation, particularly because of the language involved.
She said she would be willing to spend as much as one or two years learning the language if the opportunity required it.
The actress’ international ambition comes against the background of her Nigerian-Canadian heritage, with her mother from Imo State and her late father being Canadian.
Rosman grew up in Lagos and has previously recalled how entertainment featured prominently in her family life, including performing plays and songs with her sisters while growing up.
Her professional acting career began in 2015 with Lunch Time Heroes, after which she appeared in productions including When Love Strikes, Our Best Friend’s Wedding, Pretty Thief and To Kill a Monkey.
Her completion of the UNILAG journey therefore marks another milestone in a career that has seen her combine academic pursuits with acting opportunities.
Rosman’s September 15 celebration came as she formally marked the end of seven years at the university, while her comments on Indian and Spanish cinema point to the international direction she hopes to take her acting career.
As she closes the university chapter, the actress is now looking beyond Nigeria for new acting opportunities, with leading roles in Indian and Spanish productions among the possibilities she has publicly expressed interest in pursuing.
