Patience Ozokwor Dances Into 68 With Gratitude, Joy
Veteran actress Patience Ozokwor has marked her 68th birthday with dancing, music and a lively celebration surrounded by friends and well-wishers.
Ozokwor turned 68 on Monday, September 14, 2026, with videos from the celebration showing her smiling, dancing and enjoying the gathering as those around her joined in the festivities.
In one of the videos shared from the celebration, Ozokwor appeared in a long gown with colourful wrappers draped around her shoulders and dark sunglasses as she danced in a compound while guests clapped, danced and recorded the moment.
The gathering also featured music as guests sang, “Happy birthday, happy birthday, we love you,” while celebrating the actress.
Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, was born on September 14, 1958, in Ngwo, Enugu State, according to published biographical records.
The actress marked the occasion with a message of gratitude, thanking God for life, good health and the opportunity to celebrate another year.
“Celebrating my birthday today with a grateful heart,” Ozokwor wrote in her birthday message.
She added, “I want to thank God Almighty for long life, good health, a sound mind and the knowledge of Him.”
Ozokwor also appreciated her supporters, whom she affectionately calls “MamaG Lovers,” for their love and support over the years.
The birthday celebration offered a relaxed glimpse of the actress away from the commanding characters that have become a major part of her screen identity.
Ozokwor began her career in broadcasting before moving into acting and became widely recognised after her appearance in the 1999 film Authority.
Her career has since spanned more than two decades, with published records crediting her with appearances in more than 100 films.
She has also received major industry recognition, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Industry Merit Award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
As she entered her 68th year, the birthday celebration brought together music, dancing, prayers and expressions of appreciation, with the actress herself placing gratitude at the centre of the milestone.
