The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says the positive disposition of the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State, Dame Anengi Barasua has served to enhance its operational successes in assuring security in the area.
The State Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong gave this commendation on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 when he paid a courtesy visit on Bonny LG Chairman at the Government Lodge in Bonny.
Represented by the Commander, Bori Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Ali-Isa Gumel, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), the State Police boss applauded the LG Chairman for her efforts in galvanizing the security agencies towards ensuring the sustenance of peace and security in the LGA.
Gumel was accompanied on the visit by the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) for Bonny and Finima Divisions, Usman Sadiq, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), respectively, as well as other senior police officers.
The State Commissioner of Police gave a positive appraisal of the Dame Barasua led administration at the Bonny Local Government Council, adding that her good works were being heard beyond the LGA, encouraging her to sustain the tempo, while assuring of their commitment to the constitutional role of the Police.
Responding, the Chairman of Bonny LGA, who was represented by her Vice, Warisenibo Omoni Longjohn attributed the success of her administration in the area of security to the collaborative efforts of the Police and other security agencies, explaining the professional advice and operational strategies of the Police as well as other security agencies served to ensure that Bonny was safe and peaceful.
She specially commended the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Finima Division, CSP Usman Sadiq for his invaluable efforts right from when he served as DPO of Bonny Division until present, while lauding the efforts of his Bonny successors for sustaining the tempo left by him.
The Bonny LG Chief Executive appealed for continued support from the Police in sustaining the peaceful and secure atmosphere in Bonny LGA, especially, as the general elections draw close, calling for strict enforcement of executive orders 21 and 22 issued by the Rivers State Government.
In attendance were the Secretary to the Bonny Local Government Council, Ralph Jamaica, Chief of Staff to the Bonny LG Chairman, Austin Pepple, District Crime Officers of Bonny and Finima Police Divisions, Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee, Bonny, Karibi Tolofari, among others.
