The Nigerian Navy’s launched operation to find and rescue the five persons abducted along the Bonny River a fortnight ago has turned out successful as the abductees have regained their freedom.

A top official of the Nigerian Navy, who preferred anonymity, disclosed this to Kristina Reports on Sunday, May 22, 2022 in Bonny, Rivers State.

Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo

The five persons, and two military officers whose identities were yet unconfirmed as at the time of this report, were snatched from a speedboat they were traveling in from Bonny to Port Harcourt.

A top security source confirmed to Kristina Reports that the incident took place along the Bonny Channel close to the Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne, which is about 10 nautical miles from Bonny Island.

Our source further disclosed that the now freed abductees were at the moment at a military base near Port Harcourt and would soon be with their families back in Bonny.

Kristina Reports reliably learnt that a joint security effort was launched to find the kidnap victims and apprehend the hoodlums but somehow they were moved from one location to the other far away from the incident area.
