Oko-Jumbo Declares 2nd Term Ambition, Picks Nomination Form, Promises Better Representation, Impact Drive
The member representing Bonny State Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo has formally declared his intention to seek re-election for a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing his supporters and party stalwarts on Saturday, May 3, 2026 in Bonny, Rivers State, Oko-Jumbo said his decision is driven by a desire to build on the gains of his first tenure.

He stated that he hopes to continue providing what he described as “responsible, resourceful, and results-oriented representation” to the people of Bonny.
During the declaration, the lawmaker highlighted key achievements recorded under his leadership, saying that aside legislative oversight, these include the construction of town halls in Aganya and Akiama communities.
He also listed interventions in the provision of social amenities such as potable water in seven fishing settlements in Ward 5, Finima, namely Agaja, Mbisu I, Mbisu II, Finita-Singi (River 7), Light House, Ajiokolo I, and Ajiokolo II, which have a combined population of over 7,000 persons.
According to him, these projects have enhanced community engagement and provided platforms for dialogue and development at the grassroots.
He stressed that motivation for the Water for All project is etched on the understanding that access to clean water is a basic and universal right, and its absence is an epidemic crisis waiting to happen.

He assured his constituents that, when re-elected, his focus would be on consolidating existing projects while initiating new ones aimed at improving infrastructure, social welfare, and economic opportunities across the constituency.
The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, pledging to sustain close consultation with stakeholders and ensure that the needs and aspirations of the people remain a top priority.
Political observers say the declaration sets the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested race, as campaigns gradually gather momentum ahead of the next election cycle in the State.
