For Gabriel Jetta-Hart, the charity donations of cash, food stuffs and toiletries, among other social impact initiatives of his group, De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI) as exemplified during the Yuletide season in Bony LGA goes beyond kind gestures, it is now a badge of honour as plaudits trail the efforts.

Jetta-Hart, who is the Chairman of the Elders Council of DNKI Okoloama Flotilla (Bonny Branch), came out with this position in an interview with Kristina Reports on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the Zonal Hospital in Bonny during the Okoloama Flotilla Charity Outreach 2022, a charity event by the DNKI aimed at reaching out to the less privileged during the Christmas Season.

“In every season and time in our club there is always a time for us to present charity because we are known for charity and service to humanity; that is our motto. Like on the 15th of October, it was international, worldwide; we were at the General Hospital in Port Harcourt, the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, among others.”

“Today is Bonny’s turn, which is our chapter. So, we are extending our services like you saw earlier this morning we went to one of the communities in Bonny where we met the elderly and now we are here at the General Hospital to present some items to the less privileged and some cash donations.”

“That is what we are here for today because today is a special day, especially, for Bonny Chapter. This is a routine activity that goes on every year. It has been our hobby; that is what we are known for. Today is hospital, next day it might be the prison or barracks or the police station or other places where we think our services are needed. We go round and we give our services.”

Also speaking at Ajaokolo 2, Publicity Secretary of the DNKI, Rivers State Chapter, Victor Jumbo stressed that the group was intentional about its corporate identity and integrity hence it has stringent requirements for membership that borders on sound academic credentials and legitimate source of livelihood before anyone can be a member of the group.

“De Norsemen Kclub International (Incorporated) is a non-governmental, apolitical and non-religious organisation duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a social charity which majors in service to humanity as depicted in her motto.”

“We are registered as a social welfare organization. For you to be a member of De Norsemen Klub International, you must be a graduate and have a source of livelihood, when I say a source of livelihood, I mean a legit source of livelihood.”

“We are present in 33 states and the Federal Capital Abuja in Nigeria. We also have Norsemen Klub International in African countries and also in the Diaspora, we call them Diaspora Patrols, and other countries.

He emphasized that the financial burden of the group’s charity initiatives are exclusively borne by members of the group, noting that the motivation remains to positively impact humanity.

“We are actually an organization that has decided to serve humanity in general; so, any time we are carrying out such social welfare we come together as members and contribute towards it. Just as you saw here today, as well as what you saw at Polo Nwator and General Hospital, these are all things contributed solely by us.”

Speaking to Kristina Reports at Ajaokolo 2, formerly known as Amariari, Coordinator of DNKI, Okoloma Flotilla (Bonny Branch), Abere Allison said the group, which is a non-governmental, apolitical and non-religious organization, has mainstreamed impact on humanity and elevation of less privileged as its core mandate, stressing that the charity event was aimed enhancing the capacity of the downtrodden in the society to join in the Yuletide celebrations.

“The 15th of October 2022 is our international day; during this period we do charity, we give out things to the less privileged.”

“We decided to shift to the festive period when we know we will celebrate Christmas, we will celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ. We decided to reach to those who might find it difficult to get those things they need.”

He, however, acknowledged the positive gestures of some non-members of the group who also donated in support of the Okoloama Flotilla Charity Outreach 2022 such as Warisenibo Cyril Hart, Victor Oko-Jumbo, Daniel Green, Godswill Pepple, Edosa Edehen and Wari-Opusenibo Barasua Tobin.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the DNKI Okoloama Flotilla Charity Outreach 2022, Ebenezer Hart expressed gratitude to members of the group who contributed their resources and time to make the event happen, stressing that though the process was a herculean one, they rose to the occasion.

“From what I have seen here today, the impact is very great indeed, we did not expect the Norsemen to carry out this great activity. I want to say we are very grateful to them on behalf of the entire Ajaokolo.”

“We say a very big thank you because we didn’t expect this from anybody but the Norsemen have done a lot; that is the Bonny Branch, they have done a lot. This impact will go a very long way in the community.”
