Nasarawa Amazons vs Bayelsa Queens: NWFL Super Six Clash
Bayelsa Queens, on the other hand, had earlier been held to a 1-1 draw by Abia Angels and were desperate for a win to revive their campaign.
The first half was tightly contested, with both sides creating half chances but failing to find the finishing touch. Nasarawa, however, looked slightly more composed and dangerous in possession.
The second half opened with higher intensity. A defensive lapse almost gave Nasarawa the opener, but Bayelsa Queens defender Armblessed Ogbonnaya made a crucial last-ditch intervention to prevent a one-on-one opportunity from being converted.
The breakthrough eventually came in the 50th minute when Chiamaka Ezekwugo reacted quickest in a goalmouth scramble to fire Bayelsa into the lead.
Hembafan Inspires Late Nasarawa Amazons Comeback
The Amazons pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were rewarded in the 80th minute.

Ayatsea Hembafan’s curling effort from the right struck the crossbar after the goalkeeper’s desperate leap, and Moses Farkikyen reacted fastest to head into an empty net and level the score.
Moments earlier, Hembafan had already tested the woodwork with a fine effort from the edge of the box, signalling the pressure Nasarawa were under.
With four minutes added, the game tilted dramatically. Nasarawa hit Bayelsa Queens on the break, and Hembafan stepped up again, unleashing a powerful strike into the bottom corner to restore the lead.
Despite goalkeeper Udoka Unachukwu getting a hand to the shot, the effort was too strong, sealing all three points for Nasarawa Amazons in dramatic fashion.
The victory sends Nasarawa Amazons to the top of the table with six points, strengthening their Super Six title charge.
