President of BelemaOil Producing Ltd (BPL), Tein Jackrich says his social impact projects and programmes across the country are purely humanitarian gestures and have no political undertone.
Jackrich, in a statement signed by his associate and prominent Niger Delta leader, His Highness, Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe, tasked political officeholders to focus more on fulfilling their campaign promises to the people and adherence to principles and rules guiding politics and play by the rules of the game.
The Kula-born business mogul, who was reacting to calls by some politicians and groups urging him to run for political office in 2023, stated that he was not interested in running for any political office.
He thanked all those calling on him to contest the Rivers State Governorship Election in 2023, but said he would rather appreciate if the elected public office holders and other politicians face governance for now as their endorsement of a presumptive governorship candidate at this time could be misconstrued as coming too early.
“We thank all those calling on Engr. Tein Jack-Rich to contest for the Governorship of Rivers State because of his visible performance across the country in the areas of provision of potable water for the generality of the people, employment and empowerment, road construction and other infrastructural development, provision of basic healthcare and support for education particularly in the area of award of scholarships to indigent sons and daughters of Rivers State, Niger Delta and a host of other Nigerians.”
“Engr. Tein Jack-Rich is carrying out these selfless services for the benefits of humanity not because of his interest in politics nor his intention to contest for the governorship of Rivers State but rather, as a philanthropist, his joy is seeing people happy and thanking the Almighty God for the privilege given to him to provide the needs of the people and impact their lives positively.”
The statement noted that the humble disposition of Tein Jackrich, his high regard and respect for elders, as well as, his love and care for the needy, and the most vulnerable in the society have endeared him to the people.
Tein Jackrich’s company, Belemaoil Producing Ltd (BPL), a foremost truly indigenous oil and gas company, which emanated from the Kula, an oil and gas producing host community, on behalf of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)/BelemaOil Joint Venture, operates Oil Mining License (OML) 55. OML 55 currently has five oil fields namely: Robertkiri, Idama, Jokka, Inda, and the Belema/Belema Field (unitized with Shell).
