Measles Outbreak: Respite for Abua/Odual Communities as Health Workers Arrive Amidst One Casualty, New Case
Against the backdrop of the anguish trailing the death of a child and one new case of infection with measles, the health workers from the Rivers State Ministry of Health have arrived Emago-Kugbo Community in Abua/Odual Local Government Area.
Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) of Emago-Kugbo, Levi Marcus announced the arrival of the medical team to Kristina Reports on Friday, August 12, 2022 in Emago-Kugbo Community.
“The health workers have come and have promised start work tomorrow (Saturday) here in Emgo-Kugbo.”
He, however, lamented that one child died due to measles infection while being taken to the hospital on the afternoon of Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Amuruto-Kugbo Community.
According to him, another child, Daddyson Benibo, caught the virus on Friday, August 12, 2022 and was being attended to as at the time of this report.
Checks by Kristina Reports indicate high expectations by the people of the affected communities that respite has finally come their way.
