Lucille Education Centre (LEC) came tops again as one of its Junior secondary school students, Elizabeth Hart, emerged the winner in the junior category of 2022 edition of the King/Queen of Mathematics Contest.
Hart scored 15 points to emerge ahead of Adesanwo Adebola Peter of Faith Academy and Lucky Owordi of Kings and Queens College, who emerged first and second runners-up in the contest.
President of the G30 Ibani Voice, organizer of the annual contest, Dr Fubara Dan-Jumbo congratulated the winners, encouraging them to aspire to higher pursuits in their academics, stressing that mathematics was the bedrock of all other aspects of knowledge and human endeavour.
Represented by the Secretary General of the group, Godswill Hart, the G30 Ibani Voice President expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, especially, the school proprietors, principals, mathematics teachers and officials of the State Ministry of Education for their support.
In a chat with Kristina Reports, the new Queen of Mathematics, Elizabeth Hart thanked the G30 Ibani Voice for the opportunity to showcase her intellectual prowess, saying that the feat she has just achieved would spur her to aspire to higher heights.
A former President of the Bonny Graduates Forum (BGF), Ipiriala Jumbo, who represented the G30 Ibani Voice’ President in unveiling a new book written by Dr Fubara Dan-Jumbo, Dr Tola Salau and Nathaniel Longjohn, ‘Make Yourself a Mathematician’, lauded the authors for articulating the concepts captured in the book and simplifying them for students to assimilate.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of dummy cheques to the winners in lieu of the prizes.
