Lawmaker Flays Attackers of Tobin House Owu-Ogbo, Advocates Dialogue, Peaceful Co-Existence
Those who attacked the Tobin House Owu-Ogbo display, vandalized their building and carted away their masquerade paraphernalia have been admonished to embrace dialogue, mutual respect and peaceful co-existence.
The Councillor representing Ward 5 (Finima) in the Bonny Legislative Assembly, Godswill Brown gave this admonition on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in a statement he personally signed in the wake of the carnage at the weekend.

“Earlier today, 27th September 2025, an unfortunate altercation occurred between members of Brown House and Tobin House in Finima Community.”
“This incident, though regrettable, is a reminder of the need for us as one people to always embrace dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence in addressing any form of disagreement.”
“As Councillor representing Ward 5, I strongly condemn any form of violence, no matter the cause or provocation.”
“Violence does not solve our problems; it only deepens division and threatens the peace and development we are striving to maintain in our community.”
While expressing his gratitude and that of his constituents to the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Abinye Pepple for his pragmatic response to the issue, he said he has initiated contacts with relevant stakeholders to contain the situation, urging all concerned to remain calm.
“I sincerely thank our Local Government Chairman Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS for his swift and decisive response to the matter.”
“His timely intervention helped to prevent further escalation and restored calm in the community. This is the kind of leadership and collaboration we must continue to uphold for the safety and unity of our people.”
“I have initiated immediate consultations with the Finima Community leadership, and relevant security agencies to ensure that peace is restored without delay. I also urge all parties involved to remain calm and allow dialogue and reconciliation to prevail.”
“Let me reassure all residents of Finima that my office, in collaboration with stakeholders, remains committed to promoting peace, justice, and fairness to every family and house in this ward. Together, we must remember that we are one people with a common heritage and shared objectives.”
Suspected miscreants, who came in their numbers in a bus marked ‘BOBH of Finima’ unleashed horrific violence on the Tobin House Owu-Ogbo members on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in Finima, Bonny LGA.
It took the intervention of the 146 Battalion Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, both in Bonny to chase the hoodlums away and quell the crisis.
