A candidate, Adah Eche who sat for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) yesterday was arrested by officials for illegally upgrading his scores in the 2019 UTME from 153 to 290.

The 19 year old candidate came across some online fraudsters on Facebook and WhatsApp who claimed they can upgrade candidates’ 2019 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) scores.

Adah, who was moved by the adverts online contacted the fraudsters requesting to upgrade his score from 153 to 200 but the score was finally upgraded to 290.

Adah was advised by the scammers to write a letter to JAMB informing them that they made an error on his score which was released and that he scored 290.

Kristina Reports learnt that the arrested candidate transferred an undisclosed amount of money to the scammers before his score was upgraded.

The candidate also sent copies of the forged result to JAMB but after due investigation it was discovered that the result was fake.
