IWD: Scale Your Skills Sets, Gain More Knowledge to Thrive in Modern Business, Bonny Chamber of Commerce Charges Women

Greater women inclusion in today’s vast and dynamic marketplace would be greatly enhanced when they acquire more skills and improve their knowledge base, the Bonny Kingdom Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said.

President of the BonnyChamber, Constance Nwokejiobi said this on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 during a Business Bootcamp for Women Entrepreneurs in Bonny Island, Rivers State.

The Bootcamp, which is part of activities marking the 2024 International Women’s Day, was organized by the BonnyChamber in conjunction with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) Residential Area Ladies Association (RALA) in Bonny.

“May the skills and knowledge acquired here drives the inclusion of women in the vast and dynamic market place. Thank you for being part of this impactful journey. Happy International Women’s Day!”

Nwokejiobi expressed the hope that the lessons learned from the Bootcamp will inspire a new generation of women entrepreneurs who will not only survive but thrive in the business world, pointing out that the programme essentially aims at equipping women with the requisite skills to structure their business effectively.

“Let this business bootcamp be an inspiration encouraging women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams with confidence and competence.”

“So, today we stand at the threshold of a transformative journey with the launch of our business bootcamp entrepreneurs in Bonny Island, which aligns with this year’s theme: “Inspired Inclusion”.

“This initiative goes beyond collaboration, it’s a commitment to empower women to reshape their entrepreneurial ventures and compete favourably. The essence of his boot camp lies in equipping women in skills and knowledge necessary to structure their businesses effectively.”

“We believe that by providing the right tools, education and membership we can inspire a new generation of women entrepreneurs who will not only survive but thrive in the business world.”

“As we gather here, let us envision a future where women-led businesses not only exist but flourish a future where skills and capability thrive successes, irrespective of gender.”

She recognized and appreciated the presence and contributions of the President of the RALA and her team, the wife of NLNG’s General Manager, Production, Chioma Anowi, Chairperson of BonnyChamber Women in Business Group, Elfrida Jumbo, Resource person for the Bootcamp, Martins Ikpehai, PhD, and the Publisher/Chief Executive Officer of Kristina Reports, Godswill Jumbo.

In her welcome address, President of the NLNG RA Ladies Association, Tina Sobo, who was represented by the Secretary of the Association, Shulamite Jumbo, stated that the Association was formed to extend a helping hand to its host community with a view to creating a platform to drive social impact, community development and empowerment.

“The RA Ladies Association welcomes you to our community. RALA is an organization that is made up of women in the residential area who are mostly female staff of Nigeria LNG Bonny base.”

“It is a forum that brings them together for deliberation, discussion and also to foster unity among ourselves within our immediate environment. We also extend helping hands to our host community in human development and empowerment.

“Our distinguished RA ladies, thank you for coming out; for without your presence here today this training and bootcamp won’t be a success. During and after the course of this bootcamp which we are already into we wish to learn from his wealth of experience in business, human capital development, and small and medium enterprise.”

“We look forward to the motivating section where participants will take home and implement in their various businesses and even to a large extent be most supportive to their spouses. Thank you for this great initiative, Bonny Chamber of Commerce and thank you to everyone and do have a smooth bootcamp experience.”

Amongst the dignitaries in attendance were the pioneer Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Bonny Kingdom and District Society, Samuel Ekong, PhD, Chairperson of the BonnyChamber Women in Business Group, Elfrida Jumbo, and the Publisher/Chief Executive Officer of Kristina Reports, Godswill Jumbo, amongst others.
