In a spectacular feat and setting a new record, the Bonny Kingdom and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) won overall third position at the 2021 ICAN Annual Accountants Conference.

ICAN Bonny Kingdom and District Society achieved the feat in the Districts’ Competition during ICAN Annual Accountants Conference, which held from Monday, November 29 to Friday, December 3, 2021 at the International Conference Centre (ICC) and Sheraton Hotel in Abuja.

The District’s victory at its very first outing came through the performance of a playlet (in Bonny attire) by its members portraying the theme: “Trust In Governance”.

Speaking on the achievement, Chairman of the ICAN Bonny Kingdom and District Society, Dr. Samuel Ekong, FCA, praised the creativity and innovative spirit of his members while thanking the leadership of ICAN National for recognizing and rewarding their performance even though they were a fairly new district.

He noted that the feat spoke volumes of the dedication and commitment of members of the ICAN Bonny Kingdom and District Society, pointing out that the district since its inauguration earlier this year has been intentional about making sustainable impact.

According to him, the achievement is symbolic of greater heights the district can attain and what impact synergy among its members can make in Bonny Kingdom and beyond, pledging to sustain the district’s “Catch Them Young” initiative for secondary schools and tertiary institutions in Bonny LGA.
