The Amadabo of Finima, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown says the recent landmark judgment which declared that Finima is host to the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) is a win for Bonny Kingdom as a whole.

Aseme Alabo Brown said this on Friday, October 27, 2023 when the Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) of the Niger Delta Diocese of the Anglican Church paid him a courtesy visit in Finima, Bonny LGA in Rivers State.

He sued for unity amongst the people of Bonny Kingdom, pointing out that the benefits accruing from the wealth on the land of Bonny was far too much for any single person appropriate, emphasising the need for the confederating families of Bonny Kingdom to exercise mutual respect towards each other.

“The outcome of that case is a success for all of us, for Bonny, not only for Finima. We took the bull by the horn to do what we have to do. The case did not stay for five years, just last year August; we hit the nail on the head.”

“For me, I will always explore and create windows for unity of the people, unity of the island, unity of the local government. We will all benefit.”

“I pray that we come together as one people. I think we need to explore for unity and oneness. In Bonny, I think that if we come together, the elephant is too big for us to share very well.”

Aseme Alabo Brown, who is also the Chief and Head of the Buoye Omuso Brown Major House, averred that Finima Community and the Anglican Church in Nigeria share a history dating back to the advent of the Europeans to Africa, noting that this has defined Finima Community’s involvement with activities of the Church.

“The Anglican Communion in the Niger Delta is part of our history. Our history, as a house at Finima, can’t be complete without bringing in the Anglican Communion. So, from ab initio I’ve always identified with everything concerning the Anglican Communion in the Niger Delta.”

“Two weeks ago I was in Nembe for the 80th birthday celebration of His Royal Eminence, the Amanyanabo of Nembe Kingdom, King Dr. Edmund Daukoru. I attended the thanksgiving service in Nembe in the Anglican Church and I said the same thing that we are part of the Anglican Church as a House and as a community.”

“Finima has been strategically located in such a manner that we are favoured to house all the multinationals as landlord and that also has a way to create both positive and negative issues for us.”

“But what we are building is the positive part of being landlords to all the multinationals. You know that when you dwell on the positive side and continue to build on the positive side in a way you can try to diminish the negative part.”

Earlier, the President of the Christian Men’s Fellowship, expressed his gratitude for the victory they achieved in the court battle, celebrating the resilience of the community amidst challenges.

“It pleased God that within the period of the plan we had and to the glory of God the victory of the community over what has been going on in the court, we thank God for that victory and probably because this place as an historical place cannot be disputed.”

He appealed to the council members and anyone who can support to be part of the fundraising

“On behalf of the Christian Men’s Fellowship, we give the souvenir packaged with the conference material to present to you and to the council even though you might not have time today or tomorrow being pillars during our session but we want to use this opportunity to invite you to be part of the pillars session tomorrow.

“Sunday, we have fundraising to be able to, because as men, the woman are quite ahead of us. We are trying to run as much as our feet can carry us to meet up the gap to have an investment scheme for the CMF.”

“Recently, we’ve had a bus that has been helping us around December 2022, leaves to a private firm. We had also running fish farm, this two put together is not sufficient to generate the much needed finances to run the affairs.”

“Because of the prevailing economic realities we have around us, we thought it wise that this time around, we would be able to raise N20million and above during this conference to be able to acquire a brand new bus to put on lease.”

“In addition to our various contributions, with respect to the CMF, we’ve been able to have an alternate source of revenue income to the saving so that we won’t be bothering too much of levies.”

“Is on this reason we have decided to say and pledge our loyalty to you that if Finima Community is not.”
