The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer for the Degema/Bonny federal constituency, Warisenibo Cyril Hart has lent his voice to reactions trailing the recent wave of resignations that have hit the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially that the Chairman of the APC Caucus In the State and former Commissioner for Transport, Hon. George Tolofari.

Hart says expectations are high that the former Chairman of the APC Caucus in Rivers State will join the PDP to assist his fellow Ibani kinsman, Siminialayi Fubara emerge as Governor and himself as House of Representatives member for the Degema/Bonny federal constituency.

“I’m hoping he would join the PDP to support his namesake, Fubara Sim. They both have a long-standing relationship. Don’t forget, he is also the Governor’s man and in-law.”

“Hon. George Tolofari has large following, the Leader of APC in Bonny and chairman of APC caucus in Rivers, that’s no mean achievement. If such a person joins the PDP it becomes a landslide victory for me.”

Tolofari, who was until his resignation, the Leader of the APC in Bonny LGA, resigned his membership of the party on Monday, July 18, 2022, via a letter titled “RESIGNATION OF MEMBERSHIP FROM THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC)” dated July 18th, 2022 and addressed to the Chairman of APC Ward 12, Bonny LGA.

Hart, who described politics as “a game of numbers”, expressed optimism that the resignation of Tolofari, a man with large following across the political space was calculated to advance his political fortunes, especially, working for his namesake, Sim Fubara’s gubernatorial ambition, considering their long-standing relationship.

“Politics is a game of numbers; everyone is important and every vote is an addition that widens the victory margin for me.”

“Beyond the reasons he adduced, I’m sure his resignation is calculative to advance his political career. He is too young to retire. So we await his next moves.”

The former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Bonny LGA, who has reportedly been acclaimed as the best performing CTC Chairman ever in Bonny LGA, said Hon. Tolofari, by his resignation, has played the Pontius Pilate having washed his hands off the genocidal policies and actions of the APC against Nigerians.

“When I read his resignation letter, I could see the sincerity of his heart. It shows he cares about the sufferings of Nigerians.”

“It’s a public condemnation of the poverty and insecurity superintended by the APC. Today he has played the Pontius Pilate, and washed his hands off the genocidal policies and actions of the APC against Nigerians. Posterity will remember him.”

Recall that Hon. George Tolofari, an ally of the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who recently resigned his membership of the APC adduced the “general state of affairs” of the APC led Federal Government as reason for his resignation.

He was widely regarded as the stabilizing force in the APC Rivers State chapter which was aptly demonstrated in his managing of the process that produced the gubernatorial flag bearer of the party in the State.
