Rivers Hoopers became the first Nigerian side to reach the semi-final of the Basketball Africa League, following a 92-88 quarterfinal win against former champions US Monastir at the BK Arena in Kigali on Monday, May 27, 2024.
The KingsMen put up an impressive display as they emerged victorious in what was a feisty encounter in Rwanda.
Will Perry who rose to the fifth on the BAL all-time scoring charts with 302 points, was the top performer on the night, leading the team with 33 points, five rebounds and five assists. Kelvin Amayo followed closely with 18 points adding a BAL career-high 10 assists. Peter Olisaemeka contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds, averaging 14.2 rebounds per game in his last five games while Devine Eke added 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Chance creator; Amayo, Rebounder; Olisemeka and the ever-athletic Eke all recorded a double-double in the encounter, as Wilkins, Ike and other bench players put in shifts to ensure victory.

Rivers Hoopers will face Libyan side Al Ahly, who won against Al Ahly of Egypt 86-77 for a spot in the final of the Basketball Africa League.
