A group, the Worried Omoku Indigenes has raised alarm over the high rate of abandoned projects in Omoku community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The group called on the State Governor, Nyesom Wike to intervene and complete and equip the abandoned the General Hospital in Omoku Town and the internal roads in the community.
Leader of the Worried Omoku Indigenes, Prince Victor-Igwe said that cases of abandoned infrastructural projects in Omoku Town was now a source of serious concern to the people of the area.
Speaking with journalists in Omoku, Victor-Igwe wondered why the Omoku General Hospital and other projects initiated by the Rivers State Government have not been completed since 2015.
He lamented that though Wike promised during his campaigns to construct the Omoku internal roads and the General Hospital that promise was yet to be fulfilled long after being voted into office by the people of the area.
He appealed to Wike to match his promises with action by mobilizing contractors to site to complete the construction of roads and hospitals which has long been abandoned in Omoku town.
He said economic and social activities in the area are grounded as business owners are shutting down and leaving the area in droves.
