Frank Onyeka reveals how Coventry City fans and players won him over instantly
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has opened up about his seamless transition to life at the CBS Arena.

Despite a tough weekend on the pitch, the Nigerian international remains convinced that his move to the Championship side during the winter transfer window was the right career step.
Warm Welcome for Frank Onyeka at Coventry City
Since arriving at the club, the midfielder has become a vital part of the squad, known for his relentless work rate.
Reflecting on his start with the Sky Blues, the Nigeria international highlighted the immediate connection he felt with the club’s environment and supporters.
“My first day at the club, I knew it was right. The feelings around, not just the fans and the players, the way they welcomed me. I am really pleased to be here,” Onyeka shared.
This positive atmosphere has helped the midfielder settle quickly, even as the team navigates the ups and downs of a demanding league season.
Focus Shifts to Swansea After Southampton Setback
The positive vibes off the pitch contrasted with a frustrating afternoon against Southampton.
Coventry City suffered a narrow 2–1 defeat at home, a match where the hosts struggled to make their dominance count.

Onyeka featured for 77 minutes in the contest, witnessing several missed opportunities before being substituted for Victor Torp, who eventually converted a late penalty.
Reflecting on the performance, Onyeka noted that while the match was high in quality, the result did not reflect the effort.
“It was a good game on both sides, but unfortunately we could not get the win,” he told the BBC. “We had lots of chances, which obviously did not go in. It is one of those days where things might not go well for us.”
Despite the late hope offered by the stoppage-time goal, the equaliser remained elusive.
“When we scored the penalty, we were like, ‘This is the time.’ At the same time, after the penalty, we still had chances to equalise. It is just disappointing. We don’t need to dwell on this for so long,” he added.
The Super Eagles star is now urging his teammates to maintain a professional outlook and prepare for the upcoming trip to South Wales.
“Every player does not want a defeat, but today is one of those days we need to accept and pick ourselves up and move forward to the next game. We look forward to Swansea, and we take the result today and look forward to Swansea.”
