Fatai Osho Takes on New Challenge with 2020/21 NPFL Champions

Former Remo Stars, Enyimba and Rivers United Coach, Fatai Osho has signed a one-year contract and is to be at the helm of affairs for Akwa United following the expiration of Deji Ayeni’s contract.

Fatai Osho took to Twitter to confirm his next managerial task, he said:

“I pray for God’s divine grace for a successful 2023/2024 NPL campaign 🙏 #NewChallenge”

It would be a one-year renewable deal based on his performance. Kristina Reports learnt that he would be on a salary of over two million Naira.

Fatai resigned from his position as the Chief Coach of Rivers United on the 13th of June after securing a continental place for the side.

The seasoned coach was made the Super Eagles B and National Under-23 Olympic Team Assistant Coach in April of 2022.

He also handled Crown FC Ogbomoso, Supreme Court FC, Remo Stars in 2015, Kogi United, nine-time NPFL champions, Enyimba International and Rivers United.

The promise keepers would be looking to get back to footballing glory after missing out on the NPFL Super Six and ultimately the title and a continental place, Fatai Osho is believed to be the man to lead the resurgence.

Akwa United won the 2020/21 NPFL season and the Federation Cup in 2015 and 2017. Akwa United Football Club is expected to make an official announcement soon.
