Association of Waterfront Coordinators has called on youths in Nigeria to tow the line of peace, following the “ENDSARS” protest which turned violent over the past week with reports of loss of lives and wanton destruction of properties in its wake.

Addressing the Press recently, President of the Association, Sam Ateke maintained that the protest which kicked off peacefully all over the country was however hijacked by hoodlums that resulted in the loss of human lives and destruction of properties worth billions of Naira.

He condemned in strong terms the senseless approach of criminals in painting the ugly image of genuine protesters, pointing out that it will take time to rebuild the infrastructures destroyed.

Similarly, Ateke frowned at the recalcitrant actions of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), saying that they deliberately hijacked the peaceful protests and unleashed mayhem in Oyigbo, parts of Etche and Afam.

He commended the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike for the proactive measures he has so far taken to arrest the deteriorating security situation, hailing his gallant approach in quelling the hydra-headed monster.

The Waterfront Association leader advised the youths not to allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous elements in the society to foment trouble in any guise, stressing that they are future leaders of tomorrow.
