The Onshore and Offshore Safety Institute of Nigeria says it was poised to empower the people of Rivers State and beyond with the requisite skills sets to play key roles in the forthcoming Train 7 project of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited and other projects across the oil and gas sector landscape.

Coordinator of the institute’s Free Oil and Gas Safety and Security Empowerment Training programme in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Patrick Awaji-Imam Mark told Kristina Reports in Bonny Island on Sunday that the vision behind the programme was to reach as many young people in the area to enable them take advantage of opportunities in their land.

“Our youths should be able to take advantage of opportunities on their land. That is why you see it this close. The vision is strictly about empowering the young ones for a better future”.

He stated that the certificates, which include Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) I, 2 and 3 Certificates, were valid for all work environments and acceptable anywhere, emphasizing that they were authentic, genuine and acceptable.

“The certificates we issue to the graduands are acceptable anywhere. They are authentic, they are genuine and they are original. As a matter of fact what brought us to Bonny was the testimony of someone who got a job with the certificate in NLNG. So, I don’t think such an organization will employ with a certificate that is not valid. This certificate can put anyone on any job including the train 7 project and any other project anywhere”.
