Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Anengi Wilcox says her administration would continue to carry everyone along and pursue the holistic development of every community under her jurisdiction, especially, Finima Community.
Dame Wilcox, who said this in a statement signed by her spokesperson, Boma Waribor and made available to the Media on Friday, September 2, 2022, asserted that there were current projects ongoing in Finima while others were undergoing procurement requirements before being awarded.
“The Bonny Local Government Council is committed to the development of Finima Community as well as other Communities making up Bonny Local Government Area; presently the reconstruction of the Amariari Bridge in Finima Community is at the final phase and will soon be open for public use.”
The Bonny LGA boss came with this in response to a recent interview granted by a former Chairman of the Asawo of Buoye Omuso Brown Major House (BOBH) of Finima, Tammy Martins-Brown wherein he accused her government of denying Finima Community employment opportunities and dabbling into issues related the traditional leadership of the community.
In the statement, Dame Wilcox explained that employment issues were under the purview of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) while chieftaincy issues remain the prerogative of the State Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, stressing that local governments were completely divested of any such issues.
She further asserted that both her government and the BIRC were populated by reputable and responsible indigenes of Finima Community cutting across the three chieftaincy houses that comprise the community, advising the people of the area to channel their grievances to the appropriate quarters for proper consideration and action.
“Dame Anengi Barasua Dagogo-Wilcox remains determined to her sustained commitment to due process, transparency, fairness, protection of lives and properties, and the creation of an enabling environment for the overall development of the Bonny Local Government Area.”
