Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha says his administration will ensure that the dividends of democracy reaches everyone and every community in the area.

He equally assured members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area that their efforts in installing a performing government in the area will not be in vain as he was working assiduously with his team to justify their votes that brought him to office.

Irimagha said this during a courtesy visit by the Non-Indigenes without Borders (GDI & PDP), Bonny Chapter, a political support group within the PDP, to his office in Bonny today.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Williams Ogbah Agwu, the Bonny LG boss commended their steadfastness and passionate commitment to the party and unflinching support to his administration.

“I, honestly, will say I am overwhelmed, and not only overwhelmed but surprised at the way you guys have carried yourselves and this body up to this present date; honestly, I am overwhelmed. I am very glad. But for what you have done today, I have never expected it”.

The Bonny LG Chairman advised them to remain dedicated to the ideals of the party as politics requires sustained interest and has enough opportunity for everyone.

“You see this road called politics? It’s very vast. It has to do with continual interest. Nobody gets angry and runs into his house, except he doesn’t want to play the game anymore because if it is not you today, it must be you tomorrow.

“I am part and parcel of this system, I have served very well. I am always patient in whatever I am doing. I also have been patient in following all those things including those who have not also benefitted. Everyday, I am cracking my head, there is no one person that I have forgotten. This thing is a gradual process. The assurance I keep giving is that everybody must benefit in it”.

He noted that there was opportunity for everyone and his administration was pursuing policies that will eventually deliver the goodies to everyone irrespective of party affiliation, stressing that the doors of his administration was committed to its open door policy as his government was an all-inclusive one.

He commended the leadership of the Non-Indigenes Without Borders, Bonny Chapter under its Chairman, Hon. Chukwuemeka Agamekwe for being forthright and magnanimous in carrying everyone along, urging him not to relent but maintain his all-embracing approach, pointing out that posterity will be kind to him.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Non-Indigenes without Borders, Bonny Chapter, Chukwuemeka Agamekwe had informed the LG Chairman that the non-indigenes were appreciative of his performance since assuming office, noting that he has left no one behind in his style of administration.

“We are highly appreciative of the good works you are doing. You have been magnanimous in carrying everybody along, both PDP members and non-PDP members, those who voted for you, and those who did not.”

“You have been meticulous in the distribution of the dividends of democracy and of this administration. Your open door policy is a testament of your liberalism.”

He assured Irimagha of the “unflinching support of the non-indigenes, come rain come shine,” appealing to him “to continue reaching out to the aggrieved, even though it is not possible to please everyone at the same time”.

Speaking further, he regretted that the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre was failing to assuage expectations of addressing the unemployment situation in the area, stressing that “not much is coming from there to our teeming unemployed youths”.
