Daniel Daga Finally Acquitted on Appeal, Cleared to Play for Molde FK
Former Nigeria U-20 captain Daniel Daga has been unanimously acquitted of all criminal charges by the Frostating Court of Appeal, overturning a previous conviction.
The midfielder was previously sentenced to six months in prison by the Nordmøre and Romsdal District Court for a se*ual act against a person without consent.
Following an immediate appeal by his legal team, the higher court has now completely cleared the player.
Molde FK Confirms Daniel Daga Available for Selection
In an official statement, Norwegian Eliteserien club Molde FK acknowledged the ruling and announced that Daga is immediately available for team selection.
While the verdict is not yet legally final, the club’s leadership decided to reintegrate the player into the squad based on the Frostating Court of Appeal’s unanimous decision.
Molde FK noted that they have made continuous internal assessments regarding their responsibilities as an employer since the initial indictment.

Molde CEO Vegard Storvik emphasised that this has been a highly serious and stressful matter for everyone involved.
“This has been a demanding period for everyone involved, and we want to approach it with respect and consideration for everyone who has been affected,” Storvik stated.
Out of respect for the privacy of all parties involved, the club has stated it will not release further details regarding the intricacies of the case.
