Dangote Accepts Bae U’s Invitation to Appear on YouTube Show
Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote has accepted an invitation from Nigerian content creator Adebayo Ridwan, popularly known as Bae U, to appear on his YouTube programme, Curiosity Made Me Ask, following a conversation about engaging younger Nigerians and sharing experiences in business.
The invitation was extended on Monday, October 19, 2026, during a visit to Dangote Refinery in Lagos, where Bae U argued that younger audiences deserved an opportunity to hear directly from one of Africa’s most prominent business figures.

“Most of the interviews we’ve seen you have been on platforms that my generation don’t watch,” Bae U said while explaining why he wanted Dangote to feature on the programme.
The content creator stressed that he was not asking the industrialist to dismiss his existing media team but encouraged him to consider appearing on a platform that could reach more young Nigerians interested in his business journey and investment opportunities.
He subsequently asked when Dangote would be available to appear on Curiosity Made Me Ask, a YouTube programme known for conversations with prominent personalities.
Responding to the invitation, Dangote acknowledged the importance of reaching younger audiences and admitted that older generations had a responsibility to share their experiences with young people.
“Honestly, the future that we have is actually you, the youth. We, our own generation, really, we have not really done very well for Nigeria and also for Africa. That’s the truth,” Dangote said.
He added that conversations between generations could help young Nigerians better understand the country’s history, development and experiences that shaped its present circumstances.
“So we need to sit down with some of you and discuss our own experience with you,” he said.

Dangote also observed that some younger Nigerians might not be sufficiently familiar with prominent figures and historical events from the country’s past, stressing the importance of creating opportunities for direct engagement.
The businessman subsequently accepted the invitation, saying, “We will come.”
He also expressed a preference for an open discussion that would allow participants to ask questions about his business journey and the experiences behind his success.
“I want it to be a free forum where people can ask me questions,” Dangote said, according to reports of the exchange.
The proposed appearance would bring the industrialist into a digital entertainment setting, offering younger audiences an opportunity to engage with his experiences outside the conventional business interview format.
Bae U had also referenced the interest of young Nigerians in investing in Dangote’s business, including a proposed initial public offering, while making his case for the interview.
An initial public offering is a process through which a company offers its shares to public investors for the first time, although the exchange did not establish a specific date or terms for any such offering.
Dangote’s acceptance follows growing interest in digital platforms as spaces where prominent business figures, public personalities and younger audiences can engage in conversations about careers, entrepreneurship and national development.
The content creator also referred to his previous interview with former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, suggesting that his programme could provide a platform for younger people to hear directly from influential figures.
No specific date has been announced for Dangote’s appearance, and details of the recording, episode release and final discussion topics remain unconfirmed.
