Could Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi Kickstart 2021/22 Season With A Trophy?

Nigerian stars, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, could be on their way to lifting the English Football Association (FA) Community Shield at Wembley Stadium in London this weekend.

Permutations are positive that the duo could fire Leicester City to a win and grab the prestigious FA Cup, thus starting the 2021/2022 season on a high note when Leicester City lock horns with Manchester City on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in the battle for the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium in London.

The competition, which will kick start the 2021/2022 football season, has got soccer fans refer to the Community Shield as a glorified friendly.

Brendan Rodgers led Leicester City to win the first FA Cup title in their history after a 1–0 win over Chelsea courtesy of a stunning Youri Tielemans strike, while Pep Guardiola’s City side grabbed the  Premier League title for the 3rd time since Pep became manager in  2016, qualifying both sides to play in the community shield and head-to-head.

The last time both time both sides met was on the 3 April 2021 in the premier Manchester City got a 2 -0 victory over the foxes prior to that Leicester City earned an emphatic 5-2 win at Etihad Stadium with Jamie Varfy scoring a Hat-trick and winning the MOTM on 27th September 2020 still in the premier league.

One can say a lot has changed since then with both acquiring players in the ongoing transfer window, Manchester city’s latest arrival Jack Grealish and Ryan Bertrand joining Leicester amongst others.

The chances of these new arrivals featuring in tomorrow’s game is minimal but it promises to be an exciting watch regardless due to the already existing crop of players.
