City vs Inter: No, There is no Underdog in this Champions League Final

It is the UCL Final and Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens would be going up against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter in search of their first-ever UCL trophy and a treble.

Inter on the other hand would be returning to the Champions League final for the first time since 2010 where they lifted the trophy. The game would be played in Istanbul by 20:00hrs Nigerian time.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is a star-studded side with huge depth and a beastly winning mentality.

Having lost just one of their past 26 games, coupled with being unbeaten in the Champions League this season, Pep’s men are clear favourites. With Haaland in the mix, scoring 12 goals in the 10 UCL games played this season, the tie promises to be a cracker.

Nonetheless, it is football. A game of two halves, a game that is not played on paper but on the field. It is a game where the unexpected can happen.

The venue for the UCL final – Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

Inter Milan must not be overlooked, even though Manchester City are always the favourite regardless of the team they go up against.

Inter is solid defensively, setting up with three at the back who can rally and shut down City’s attack.

Brentford bested City twice this season, playing three at the back on one of those occasions and Everton snatched a 1-1 draw after reverting to a back three.

There seems to be a pattern and Inter would look to exploit that.

The Italian side also has solid attacking options in Lautaro Martínez who has 28 goals and 11 assists from 58 games this season, as well as Edin Džeko and in-form Romelu Lukaku. The team also has a solid shot-stopper in André Onana

Inter secured a 3-0 victory on aggregate against City rivals AC Milan to set up the Final clash with City.

Inter Coach, Inzaghi admitted to Manchester City being the best team in the world right now, while City gaffer, Pep, stated that the important thing going into the game is to be patient.

Both coaches understand what is at stake and the quality of the team they will face.

A bizarre fact.

Inter Milan has won the European Cup and Champions League three times, and on all three occasions, they have ended another team’s treble bid.

Meanwhile; Argentina teammates, Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez would turn club rivals on Saturday when City and Inter battle it out.

Only one will become the 10th player to win the World Cup and Champions League in the same season!

Who wins it?
