A contractor on the Nigeria LNG Train 7 project, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, says it remains dedicated to the educational development of children in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Procurement Manager of the company, Meline Tori said this on Friday, March 15, 2024 in an interview with Kristina Reports on the sidelines of the presentation of educational materials to Central School, Bonny, Rivers State.
She said the educational materials, which included textbooks, exercise books, school bags, pencils, and crayons, amongst others, as well as tuition fees for pupils whose parents could not afford to pay their fees, was in lieu of the International Book Day in April.
“We do the construction in Bonny on the Train 7 project in NLNG. We are subcontractors. We are donating books for children because next month is the International Book Day.”
“My company did some contributions to help the pupils to be better and if there is another activity we will come to do it again.”
On his part, the company’s Community Relations Manager, Emmanuel Finecountry said the company is committed to eradicating illiteracy in line with the company’s world vision of having everyone educated.

“China Harbour is committed to eradicating illiteracy like we have done before. We are doing it again and we will continue to do it as much as we exist here.”
“And wherever we find ourselves, we will continue to do so. It is my company’s policy to reach out. So, I had to also make the moves to make sure Bonny is not left out because this is my Kingdom, this is my home.”
“So, as much as possible whichever way they can reach out to the people of Bonny Kingdom we will do. In as much as we still exist within the confines of China Harbour we will continue to do this.”
He thanked the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom for the opportunity to serve as liaison between the Kingdom and company, pledging to continue to project the Kingdom is positive light and attract developmental initiatives to Bonny.
