According eyewitnesses, the hoodlums, who were suspected to be of Andoni extraction with collaboration from their accomplices from Bonny, arrived in speedboats at the Coconut Estate waterfront which is close to the abductee’s residence, chanting “Asawana, Asawana” and whisked him away.

Before abducting him, the hoodlums were said to have shot sporadically to scare away people and in the process allegedly shot dead a policeman.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports have it that efforts by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to stop the well-armed criminals who allegedly came prepared with dynamites and other dangerous weapons proved futile.

The Nigeria Police said information on the incident were still sketchy but will provide details later today.
