Runaway notorious former Commander of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Akwuzu, Anambra State, Chief Superintendent of Police, James Nwafor has been arrested in Ghana.
Kristina Reports reliably learnt that CSP Nwafor, also known as the ‘Butcher of Awkuzu’, who is said to be responsible for over 3000 extra judicial executions, has finally been apprehended in Kumasi, Ghana.
Nwafor was until Thursday, October 15, 2020 the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Security Matters to Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano.
Obiano sacked him when #EndSARS protesters stormed Government House, Awka demanding his sack and arrest to answer for his crimes at Awka.
Prior to that appointment he was relieved of his duty as Commander of SARS Awkuzu after series of petitions accusing him of severe human rights violations including extrajudicial killings of several innocent and hapless Nigerians during his days as head of the notorious rogue unit in Awkuzu.
One of such incidents was the Ezu River Massacre where over 100 Biafran agitators were allegedly killed and their bodies thrown into the Ezu River in 2012 by SARS Akwuzu, Anambra State led by CSP James Nwafor.

Curiously, he disappeared into thin air thereafter until his arrest in Ghana today. Details of his arrest, however, still remain sketchy as at the time of this report.
Upon his disappearance, the social media community, especially, those on Twitter had placed a N1 million bounty for any information leading to his arrest, which they raised through voluntary contributions online.
Nationwide protests have been ongoing against the excesses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) which escalated into widespread violence earlier today in response to the alleged killing of unarmed peaceful protesters at Lekki in Lagos State on the night of Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
