The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri as winner of the governorship election in the State.
According to the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Mohammed Mele, Fintiri, polled 430,821 votes ahead of Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, also known as Aisha Binani, who scored 396,788 votes, to be re-elected for a second term in office.
Fintiri contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Binani was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Prof. Mele announced the final results on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 after final collation of results sequel to a supplementary election conducted on Saturday, April 18, 2023, which outcome was almost truncated with the illegal announcement by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari.
Ari has since gone into hiding after he was suspended by INEC and reported to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for investigation and prosecution.
