BREAKING: Asimini Line Announces Take-Off Date

The long awaited take off of Asimini Line, the Bonny Kingdom ferry service is finally here as the Bonny Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BOCCIMA), facilitators of the service, has announced a date for its first sail.  

Director General of BOCCIMA, Mrs. Constance Nwokejiobi, in a statement made exclusively available to Kristina Reports on Friday, December 17, 2021, in Bonny, Rivers State, announced that the ferry line is set to make its first sail.

According to the statement, Asimini Line will sail from Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Monday, December 20, 2021 by 7.00am and arrive Bonny by 8.30am and take off from Bonny by 10.00am and arrive Port Harcourt by 11.30am.

The afternoon schedule is billed for 1.30pm from Port Harcourt to arrive Bonny by 3.00pm and depart from Bonny by 4.00pm arriving Port Harcourt by 5.30pm.

The statement disclosed that prospective passengers can book for the boat ride via the website: www.asiminiline.com.ng.  

The ferry will sail from the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Jetty at Marine Base, adjacent to Government House jetty, while that of Bonny is from the BOCCIMA Jetty at the Bonny Kingdom Free Trade Zone (BKFTZ) along King Asimini Bypass (Berger Road), adjacent to the Bonny Consulate Building and Bonny Fire Station.

The statement further states that minors below 18 years of age must be accompanied or would not be allowed to board the boat, adding that “all travelers are required to have an acceptable photo identification card and your booking names must match your ID Card names”.

Mrs. Nwokejiobi expressed appreciation to the Grand Patron of BOCCIMA, His Majesty, King Dr Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, JP, Perekule XI; the Managing Director of NIWA, Mr. George Moghalu; Chairperson of Sealink Project Committee, Dabney Shallholma; Managing Director of Nigeria Export Import Bank (NEXIM), Abba Bello, and other stakeholders for their critical inputs to make the take-off of Asimini Line a reality, assuring travelers who would be utilizing the service of good value for their money.
