BREAKING: AIT, Raypower FM Founder, Raymond Dokpesi, Passes On

Accomplished businessman, media mogul and philanthropist, Raymond Dokpesi, who is the founder and Chairman, Board of Directors of DAAR Communications has passed on to the great beyond.

The news of his death was communicated via a press release by his family personally signed by his son and heir, Raymond Dokpesi Jr., which disclosed that the Edo State born businessman, Raymond Dokpesi died on May 29, 2023.

Dokpesi Jr., who is the Managing Director of DAAR Communications, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT), and Raypower FM, expressed gratitude for the show of love the family is receiving following the demise of their father.

He described his late father as “a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many,” noting that “he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

“High Chief Dokpesi was also a respected and accomplished businessman, a pioneer in the media industry, and a philanthropist who dedicated his life to the service of his country and his community. His legacy will live on through the impact he made on the lives of many.”

He prayed the public to grant the family the privacy to mourn the death of their patriarch, who during his lifetime held the traditional title of Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom in Edo State and was a formidable member of Nigeria’s leading opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“The Dokpesi family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of our patriarch. We also ask for privacy during this time as we grieve together as a family.”

Although, the communication from the family did not state the possible cause of his death, unconfirmed sources say he suffered severe stroke shortly after the Ramadan fast and was making frantic efforts at recuperation before he died.
