Three persons have died from an automobile accident involving a car and a bicycle ostensibly as a result of the pandemonium that trailed the kidnap of two persons from an event centre in Abalamabie Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Eye-witnesses told Kristina Reports that the incident, which occurred at about 10pm on Sunday, July 11, 2021, along the Abalamabie Road close to Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), Bonny, claimed the lives of both the driver of the vehicle and his passengers as well as the rider of the bicycle.

Also, the Divisional Police Officer of Bonny Division of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), James Ekpeta, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), has confirmed to Kristina Reports that two persons were kidnapped at Abalamabie Community this night, while one escaped by diving into the river and swimming to safety.

He stated that security operatives were on the trail of the suspected hoodlums, assuring residents that the situation was now under control and security agencies were working round the clock to restore normalcy.

An eye-witnesses at the scene of the accident said the victims were “one Hausa guy,  an Akwa Ibom guy, and one girl; both driver and passengers are dead,” adding that the corpses of the dead victims have been deposited at an undisclosed mortuary in Bonny.

Daredevil kidnappers, who were said to have been well-armed, wearing masks and bulletproof vests, and wielding sophisticated weapons, at about 9pm on Sunday, July 11, 2021, abducted three yet-to-be-identified persons from the Palladium Hub at Ring Road, off Abalamabie Road.

One person, said to be the manager of the event centre, later escaped from his captors by diving into the river and swimming to safety.

Tonight’s incident evokes reminiscences of the Banigo 5 incident which has remained unsolved for almost a year now.

Thompson Allison, Daniel hart, Sunny Hart, Theophilus Ibiama and Dagogo Jackmay were whisked away from a funeral at Banigo Isile-Ogono on Saturday, September 12, 2020 and are yet to be seen till date.
