Brand Ambassador of the King and Queen of Mathematics Contest and reigning King of Mathematics, Nelson Bluejack says the 2022 edition of has officially kicked off with the sensitization campaign.
Bluejack said this after visiting various secondary schools alongside the Secretary General, Godswill Hart, and other members of the G30 Ibani Voice, organizers of the contest, to create awareness about the program on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in Bonny, Rivers State.
He stated that the prize money remains N1million and was open to all secondary schools in Bonny LGA, explaining that the sensitization campaign to different schools was aimed at encouraging the students to prepare for the competition, especially, as they go for the long holidays.
“We are trying to get the word around that the King and Queen of Mathematics Contest is on. It is going to be in November/December this year. A new King or Queen of Mathematics is going to be chosen this year.”
“Every secondary school, senior and junior, in Bonny Island is going to be involved.”
He advised secondary school students in Bonny LGA to study hard towards competing for the star prize and also to become proficient in Mathematics.
“The advice I want to give to every secondary school student in Bonny with regards to this competition is that they should study hard, especially, their Mathematics, and make sure they don’t relent.”
“During this holiday they should use it to watch or do whatever, they should use to study hard and make sure that they study Mathematics.”
Highpoint of the sensitization campaign was the spontaneous quiz wherein some students won instant prizes. The winners include Faith Academy, Deborah Wilcox, SS2, Daniel Eromobor, SS1, Joseph Benstowe, JSS2, and Raymond Monday, JSS1; and Bonny National Grammar School (BNGS), Igwe Nazareth, SS2, Augustine Godspower, SS2, Temple Wisdom, SS2, Fred David Irimagha, JSS1, and Stephen Allaputa, JSS2.
Others include Lucille Education Centre, Wilcox Jewel, SS1, Elvis Wali Raymond, SS2, Sofiri Victor Pepple, JSS2, and Elizabeth Hart, JSS2; Community Secondary School (CSS), Bonny, Sampson Matthew, SS2, Tamunosa John-Jumbo, SS2, Godswill Alphaeus Banigo, SS1, Grace Jonah, JSS2, and Godgift Allison, JSS2; Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Finima, Bonny, Tonison Gift, SS1, Okon Precious, SS2, Precious Anietie, JSS1, and Vera Victor, JSS1.
The G30 Ibani Voice, organizers of the competition, is a socio-political pressure group led by Dr Fubara Dan-Jumbo, is focused on human capital development.
