Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha has expressed satisfaction on the level of compliance by the vast majority of residents and business operators in the area to the directives of Rivers State Government including the temporary closure of markets, night clubs and drinking parlours, in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the LGA.
Irimagha also cautioned residents to remain eternally vigilant and safety conscious even as the state government declares a two-day temporary lifting of lockdown slated for 12th and 13th May 2020.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Williams Ogbah Agwu, the Bonny LG boss thanked the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for the temporary lifting of the lockdown, reminding residents of Bonny LGA to always “constantly pray and do the needful on our own part by adhering to the stay at home policy”.
The OLGA boss emphasized “the need for residents to always be on guard, taking all safety precautions as they go out to fend for themselves and restock their homes, adding they should always maintain social distance, washing of hands regularly and used alcohol based sanitizer”.
He said, those individuals who deliberately want to flouts government directive with their irresponsible show of disobedience, if apprehend government will ensure they face the law.
