Amadabo of Finima Capitulates After Government Rebuke, Intense Media Backlash

Reeling under the scathing rebuke by the Bonny Local Government and intense media backlash, the Amadabo of Finima, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown is now preaching peace and unity, though refusing to condemn last weekend’s festival of violence in Finima Community.

This new posture, which was conveyed via a watery undated statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Charles Brown, and posted on social media, indirectly endorsed the carnage unleashed on that fateful day by miscreants.

This, apparently, is in reaction to the stern rebuke by the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Abinye Pepple, who asserted in unmistakable terms the active status of Section 40 of the Nigerian Constitution which guarantees the rights of citizens to peaceful assembly, freedom of movement and association.

In the said statement, Aseme Alabo Brown asserted that “Finima as a Community has only one Ogbokoroma, one Nwantam Society, one Okonko Club, etc. like most other Communities in Bonny Kingdom, all of which are collaboratively engaged and operated by members of the Chieftaincy Houses in Finima”.

Curiously, checks by Kristina Reports show the opposite of his statement given that though communities such as Burukiri, Abalamabie, Oloma, among others, have cultural convergence, such consensus is bereft of violence or coercion as witnessed in Finima under his watch.

Suspected hoodlums conveyed in two HiAce busses unleashed horrifying acts of violence on members of the Tobin Konibo-ye-Awanta Chieftaincy House of Finima in Bonny Kingdom on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in the Tobin House section of Finima Community in Bonny LGA of Rivers State.

Videos, which have gone viral on social media, show that the two HiAce busses had clear inscriptions: “Office of the Amadabo of Finima” and “BOBH Asawo of Finima”.

The gruesome incident saw Tobin House members stabbed, bathed with acid, their vehicles vandalized, traditional dance building vandalized, including a building belonging to a former Divisional Police Officer, who hails from Tobin House in Finima.

Though struggling to remain in office as the Chief and Head of Brown House, a position that is currently undergoing judicial scrutiny, sources told Kristina Reports that he has allegedly been seeking government recognition outside the established protocols.

Less than two weeks after his installation as chief and head of Brown House under controversial circumstances, his rival, a true descendant of the owner of the chieftaincy house, Evans Clement Buoye Brown was installed in line with Ibani (Bonny) tradition and custom as chief and head of the Brown House and later received into the Bonny Chiefs Council by the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom.

Upon his return home to Finima, hoodlums, ostensibly acting in support of Aseme Alabo Brown attacked and stabbed him severally, leaving him to bleed to death. He was later evacuated to a medical facility in Bonny where doctors battled to save his life.

Four years later, Aseme Alabo Brown has neither condemned that horrendous feast of violence nor done anything to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.
