Akwa Ibom Local Government Council Tackles Infrastructural Decay with Road Grading

To address the Infrastructural decay in his domain, the Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, Inibehe Umah has embarked on massive grading of rural roads in the area.

Ini LGA is regarded as the food basket of Akwa Ibom State but is inaccessible due to the poor road network among its communities.

Addressing the people of Ikpe Community during an on-the-spot inspection of the road grading exercise, Umah expressed his administration’s desire to open up roads across the entire local government area, stating that improved infrastructure would not only enhance mobility but also spur economic activity.

He emphasized the importance of accessible and well-maintained roads in facilitating the movement of goods and people, thereby stimulating commerce and trade within the local communities.

The Ini Council boss reiterated that the grading of roads in Ini was a step towards a comprehensive plan to revitalize transportation infrastructure throughout the entire local government area.

Umah further assured residents of his administration’s unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of the people especially road Infrastructure in line with the governor’s ARISE Agenda. 

“I am greatly inspired by His Excellency’s vision to pick interest in the development of the rural communities.

“Our desire is to open up the roads in Ini Local Government Area and make them easily accessible”

Residents of Ikpe Community turned up in large numbers to welcome the Chairman and lauded his initiative aimed at transforming ini Local Government.

Speaking during the visit, the Secretary of Ini Transition Committee, Akaninyene Ekpenyong, who is an indigene of the area, thanked the Chairman for the initiative and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done, stating that it will last and guarantee free movement of people and goods.
