Akwa Ibom @ 33: Prioritize Rural Development, Youth Empowerment, Peace Building – Activist Toasts Home State

As Akwa Ibom State marks the 33rd anniversary of its creation, the call has gone to the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration to focus on rural development, youth empowerment and peace building across the 33 local government areas of the State.

A native of Akwa Ibom State and Head of Digital Content Generation at Kristina Reports, Clement Udom made this call while felicitating with the State Government and his kinsmen, urging the government to prioritize these areas to move the State to the next level.

“In the wake of Akwa Ibom State celebrating 33 years of existence, this should be seen as a family reunion that will strike a balance in governance.”

“Our dear Governor, Udom Emmanuel needs to focus on rural development projects, youth empowerment schemes, capacity and leadership building and conflict resolution amongst youths in the rural communities.”

The human and environmental rights activist and climate change campaigner praised the Udom Emmanuel led administration for its peace building and conflict resolution efforts but noted that more needs to be done.

“Akwa Ibom is a peaceful and loving state that accommodates humanity. We should join hands to support good governance as a way of life and shun bad energy that could destroy the peace of our home state.”
