COVID-19: Include Religious Leaders in Future Emergency Measures – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has called on government at all levels to include religious leaders in future efforts at managing emergency situations including pandemics.

Pastor Adeboye made this call today during livestreamed sermon to his church members via satellite television.

He said this was to ensure that the spiritual aspects of managing such emergencies, explaining that this was important to achieve a holistic and sustainable solution to such emergencies.

He noted that Ebola, Lassa fever, and now Covid-19 have and just like the previous ones went so will coronavirus go.

The revered cleric also warned against any form of quick fixes and shallow handling of the Covid-19 pandemic that will engender a relapse, stressing that “we don’t want a relapse”.

“Covid-19 will recede but it won’t disappear completely, so the government and those in charge should ensure we get it right, so that we don’t have a relapse”.

The RCCG General Overseer enjoined his members to sustain the practice of personal hygiene and environmental sanitation.

“Ensure you maintain personal hygiene and clean your surroundings, always keep your environment clean.”

He added that “I’m talking to God, He hears me and He will show mercy to us”.
