The highly-rated Nigerian youth international, a dynamic left-footed winger, arrives in Europe with a soaring reputation as one of the finest young talents from his home country.

Born on June 30, 2008, the 18-year-old predominantly excels as a right winger. He is already a key fixture in Nigeria’s U20 national team setup and stood out as one of the youngest players at the recent global tournament in Chile.

Before his world stage breakthrough, Maigana helped Nigeria secure a bronze medal at the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

He featured in every single match during that tournament and calmly converted his spot-kick during a crucial penalty shootout after extra time.

Nigerian Winger Ready For European Breakthrough

The youngster carried that fine form into the U-20 World Cup, playing a key role as Nigeria defeated Norway, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia.

Although their impressive run ended in the round of 16 against eventual finalists Argentina, Maigana’s fearless ability to take on and win one-on-one battles at just 17 years old caught the eyes of several global scouts.

ZTE Sporting Director Andrés Jornet revealed that the club faced stiff competition for the winger’s signature but expressed immense delight after finalizing the deal.
